On Saturday, November 17, 2007, the Rapid City Police Department conducted a DUI Saturation Patrol in the ongoing effort to combat the public problem of drinking and driving.  During the four hour timeframe of 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m., Rapid City Police Officers conducted 156 traffic stops, netting a total of 17 DUI arrests.  This task force concentrated on DUI offenses, Seatbelt Violations and the “Move Over Law”, in an effort to increase public awareness and safety.  We will continue to aggressively enforce traffic laws, as a method to ensure roadway safety. 

 

Additionally, during this weekend, there were no alcohol involved injury or fatal crashes in Rapid City.
