March 19 - Police Arrest Man Wanted in January Injury Accident

Rapid City, S.D. –Today Rapid City Police arrested 24-year-old Seth Dismounts Thrice for a felony warrant for aggravated assault. Dismounts Thrice was identified as the driver in a January accident that sent three people to the hospital, including two with serious injuries.

At 2:02 p.m. on Jan. 15, the Rapid City Police Department and Rapid City Fire Department responded to an injury accident at the intersection of Haines Avenue and Disk Drive. Dismounts Thrice was driving a 1979 Monte Carlo was northbound on Haines Avenue, and failed to stop for other vehicles stopped at a red light. The Monte Carlo struck and pushed a 2003 Toyota Sequoia through the intersection. The Sequoia collided with an eastbound 2008 Ford Focus, and then struck a 2004 Subaru Forester. The Sequoia then struck a southbound 2009 Jeep Liberty.

Dismounts Thrice fled the scene on foot. Two passengers in the Monte Carlo were transported to Regional Hospital with life threatening injuries, where they were treated and later released. The driver of the Toyota Sequoia was transported to Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. All other drivers and passengers were treated at the scene.

A felony warrant for aggravated assault was issued for Dismounts Thrice, and this morning police received a tip that he was staying at a residence in Rapid City. The resident allowed police to search the property, and Dismounts Thrice was found sleeping inside. He was taken into custody without further incident.
