Rapid City, S.D. –Rapid City police expanded their patrol presence over Labor Day weekend, putting additional officers on the streets to identify and apprehend impaired drivers.
Extra units patrolled Friday and Saturday night, resulting in the following arrests:
• 4 DUI arrests
• 5 drug arrests
• 3 warrant arrests (one felony warrant arrest)
• 2 citations for minor consuming
• 8 warnings for failure to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk
In addition to the saturation effort, police arrested another nine drivers for DUI over the weekend, for a total of 13 DUI arrests. The Rapid City Police Department remains committed to eradicating drinking and driving in our community.
