Rapid City, S.D. – Law enforcement officers will be conducting Special Response Training exercises in several locations today.
The training will run from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. in the following locations:
• City Street Department
• Warehouse at the corner of Maple and Main Streets
• Residence at 108 Kansas City Street
Each location will have a marked patrol vehicle parked in front. During the training, area residents may hear noises that sound like gunshots or explosions, and should not be alarmed.
The Special Response Team is a joint operation of the Rapid City Police Department and Pennington County Sheriff’s Office. As the largest tactical team in the state, Special Response Team members are trained to respond to high-risk incidents in Rapid City and western South Dakota.
