May 12, 2011 - Police Respond to Report of Armed Robbery

Rapid City, S.D. –At 10:05 a.m. on May 12, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery on the 600 block of Main Street.
The victim reported he was leaving his apartment around 10 a.m. and noticed a male subject standing in the alley. The subject approached him and pointed a large caliber handgun at him, demanding money. The suspect fled on foot, headed west, and has not been located. The victim was not injured.
The suspect is described as a Native American male, approximately 35 years old, 5’10”, 160 pounds, wearing a black nylon jacket, blue jeans, and black tennis shoes, with a long braided ponytail and a mustache. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to call police at 394-4131.
