November 5, 2010 - Fire Death Investigation

The victim of the fire in the 600 block of Monroe Street has been identified as Francis Sanderson (age 53) from Rapid City. Officers from the Rapid City Police Department, Rapid City Fire Department, Pennington County Sheriff’s Office and ATF responded to the fire on November 5, 2010.
Preliminary results of the autopsy indicate the victim died from smoke inhalation. The investigation into the cause of the fire is being conducted by the Rapid City Fire Department.
There is no indication of foul play.
