June 30, 2010 - Alcohol Compliance Check

During the evening hours of Tuesday, June 29, 2010, the Rapid City Police Department conducted compliance checks of alcohol establishments.  A total of 19 establishments were checked, 18 of the establishments were found to be in compliance. One of the establishments, Super Pumper at 2215 Haines Avenue, sold alcohol to an underage police informant. The seller, Reannon Lybarger (age 27), an employee of Super Pumper, was issued a court appearance required citation.  Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor is a Class 2 misdemeanor punishable by 30 days in jail, a $500.00 fine or both. The following establishments were in compliance:

6. Don’s Valley Express - 3343 Haines Ave
7. Kaktus Kim’s Mexican Restaurant - 2200 N Maple Ave
8. Fuddruckers - 2200 N Maple Ave
9. Minervas Restaurant - 2211 N LaCrosse St
10. Jackpot Casino II - 685 LaCrosse St #C
11. Bus’s Bottle Shop - 615 E North St
12. East North Casino - 230 E North St
13. Big D - 850 E North St
14. Corner Pantry - 901 E North St
15. Uncle Sam’s East - 1122 E North St
16. Horseshoe Bar - 1407 ½ E North St
17. 445 Club - 445 Mt Rushmore Rd
18. Oasis Lounge-  711 Main St

The Rapid City Police Department is committed to excellence in public safety.  Protecting the youth in the community is a priority and we will continue to conduct compliance checks in efforts to reduce underage consumption of alcohol.  Since January 1, 2010, a total of 12 alcohol establishments have failed alcohol compliance checks by selling to underage police informants.
