March 6, 2009 - Alcohol Compliance Check

During the evening hours of Friday, March 6, 2009 the Rapid City Police Department conducted compliance checks of alcohol establishments. A total of 20 establishments were checked and all of the establishments were found to be in compliance. Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor is a Class 2 misdemeanor punishable by 30 days in jail, a $500.00 fine or both. The following establishments were in compliance:

3. Kaktus Kims - 2200 N Maple Ave
4. Red Lobster - 120 Disk Dr
5. Olive Garden - 160 Disk Dr
6. Superpumper - 2215 Haines Ave
7. BP Casino - 609 Mt View Rd Suite C-1
8. Safeway - 730 Mountain View Rd
9. Boyd’s Liquor Mart - 2001 W Main st #202
10. Hana Restaurant - 2328 W Main St
11. Khoury’s Mediterranean - 2520 W Main St
12. Golden Phoenix - 2421 W Main St.
13. Clock Tower Lounge - 2525 W Main St
14. Pizza Hut - 2604 W Main St
15. Thrifty Smoke Shop - 3030 W. Main St. Suite B
16. FTC Express - 3460 Sturgis Rd
17. Big D Oil - 3540 Sturgis Rd
18. Buck & Gator - 4095 Sturgis Rd
19. Meadowwood Lounge - 3809 Sturgis Rd
20. Roman’s Imperial Inn - 100 St Joseph St
The Rapid City Police Department is committed to excellence in public safety. Protecting the youth in the community is a priority and we will continue to conduct compliance checks in efforts to reduce underage consumption of alcohol. Since January 1, 2009, a total of 5 alcohol establishments have failed alcohol compliance checks by selling to underage police informants.
