Officers from the Rapid City Police Department responded to the report of a shooting in the 1100 block of Mount Rushmore Road at about 4 a.m. on February 8, 2009.  A 27-year-old male subject was found with a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to Rapid City Regional Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Krista Richard, age 23, has been arrested in connection with the shooting. She is charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder and is being held in the Pennington County Jail. The gun used in this crime has been recovered.
