December 11, 2008 - Juvenile Fight at 7th & Quincy Street
|
On 12-9-2008 at approximately 5:30 p.m., a fight occurred involving a group of juveniles near the intersection of 7th and Quincy Street. The caller reported that baseball bats were being used in the fight. Officers arrived and found three injured boys. Two of the boys were age 16 and one was 15. All three are from Rapid City. Their injuries were minor and consisted of abrasions and bruising. They were treated at Rapid City Regional Hospital and released. Although baseball bats were reported in the initial call, the officers did not locate any weapons.
One juvenile age 15, who was involved in this fight, was arrested for disorderly conduct and a probation hold from a previous incident earlier in the day. At this point it appears the juveniles involved knew one another, and the fight was an isolated incident.
An investigation is being conducted by members of the Rapid City Police Department and Pennington County Sheriff’s Office. Several juveniles have been identified and they are being interviewed by investigators to determine their involvement in the fight as either suspects or witnesses.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Rapid City Police Department or Pennington county Sheriff’s Office at 394-4134 or 394-6115.
