November 21, 2008 - Vandalism Arrests Made

The Criminal Investigation Division of the Rapid City Police Department has concluded an investigation that involved multiple acts of vandalism and a single act of assault. The acts began on October 3, 2008 when a bicyclist was shot with a BB gun from a moving vehicle. On October 15, 2008 and then again on November 9, 2008, the suspects, using the same BB gun, fired at vehicles and homes leaving a total of 31 victims and causing an estimated $11,000.00 in damaged windows.
The suspects, Jeremy Nye (age 18), Shawn Krick (age 18) and Patrick Greenfield (age 18) all of Rapid City, have been placed in custody in the Pennington County Jail and are being held on $1,500.00 bond. Each are charged with felony vandalism, a class four felony that carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $20,000.00 fine. Greenfield has an additional charge of misdemeanor assault for shooting the bicyclist. The assault charge carries a maximum penalty of one year incarceration and a $2,000.00 fine.
