On 07-26-08 at approximately 7:20 p.m. the Rapid City Police Department received a dispatch call of a disturbance at the Colonial Motel, 511 E. North St. When officers arrived they found Thomas Arthur, age 47 of Rapid City, walking in the motel parking lot. Officers stopped Mr. Arthur and discovered that he had been stabbed in the chest. Emergency medical personnel were called to the scene and he was transported to Rapid City Regional Hospital where he was admitted. We learned this morning that Mr. Arthur’s injuries are not life threatening and he is to be released from the hospital later today.
Investigators from the Rapid City Police Department and the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office investigated this stabbing. It is believed that Mr. Arthur had been at a room in the motel drinking with several other subjects when a fight broke out. Robert Two Hearts, age 44 of Rapid City, has been charged with Aggravated Assault and is in the Pennington County Jail. A knife was located in the motel room and was seized.
At this time we are not looking for further suspects in this assault and there is no reason to believe the public is in danger.
The case has been turned over to the Pennington County State’s Attorney’s Office for prosecution. Please contact their office at 394-2191 for additional information.
